Who we are
The coaches behind Liverpool's North West Elite Academy
Built by coaches who came up through the game in the North West. We develop the whole player, first touch to mindset, in a community where every child gets elite-level attention.
Our story
Why we started this academy
We grew up playing and coaching football in Liverpool and across the North West, and we kept seeing the same thing. The standouts get the attention, and everyone else makes up the numbers.
North West Elite Academy was built to flip that. Every session is planned around individual development, then delivered in a team setting, so each player gets coached on their game while learning to play the real one. Whether a child arrives dreaming of an academy contract or just wanting to love their football, they get the same standard of coaching at our Cardinal Heenan base in West Derby.
Academy games are part of that promise. Fixtures are earned through performance and attitude in training, which means every player, at every level, has something real to work towards each week.

The non-negotiables
Before any coach takes a session at our Liverpool academy, the paperwork is done and checked.
- Every coach holds FA coaching qualifications
- Every coach is enhanced DBS checked
- Every coach holds the FA Safeguarding Children award
- First aid trained staff within the coaching team

Our home
Cardinal Heenan, West Derby
Every NWEA session runs at Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School on Honey's Green Lane, Liverpool L12 9HZ.
One home venue means parents always know where they stand, literally. There is parking on site, and the location is minutes from West Derby village, Croxteth and Tuebrook, with easy links from across Liverpool.
